VU.CITY Cloud

VU.CITY Cloud allows users to run VU.CITY through a web browser without the need for high-spec computer hardware.

Compatability

The following indicators will check if your web browser and operating system are supported:

To check whether your browser supports WebSockets, we suggest running a test connection through a WebSocket test site such as this one.

Known limitations

Note to Windows users, Internet Explorer is not supported, and Windows 7 is known to cause connection issues. We therefore recommend Windows 10 and Chrome, Firefox, or Brave.

Note to Mac users, while Safari is supported, it is known to experience cursor and resolution issues from time to time. We therefore recommend Chrome, Firefox, or Brave.

iOS and Android are not supported.

Network requirements

VU.CITY Cloud makes all connections using HTTPS or WSS, and those connections are made via port 443.

The following domains are all involved in serving VU.CITY Cloud sessions, and must be allowed through your network to enable normal use:

  • *.frame.nutanix.com
  • *.nutanixframe.com
  • *.cloudfunctions.net
  • logs-01.loggly.com
  • api-js.mixpanel.com

Please consider the following when determining how best to configure your network environment for VU.CITY Cloud:

  • All traffic between the end user and VU.CITY Cloud is encrypted, and attempting to inspect this traffic will likely interrupt the connection;
  • Explicit proxy servers (i.e. proxy servers that your web browser are aware of) are supported;
  • Transparent proxy servers (i.e. proxy servers that your web browser is unaware of) have been known to prevent WebSockets from connecting.
