When creating a new model, you can choose to respect existing buildings or not. This setting determines if the base of your model sits on top of other buildings, or on top of the terrain.
If you choose to respect existing buildings, your model will sit on top of any existing structures beneath it. This can be useful for roof extensions for example.
If you choose not to respect existing buildings, your model will sit on the terrain, and overlap any existing structures.
