Getting started with VU.CITY

VU.CITY is accessed through an online portal which lets you share/manage files and projects, edit your account settings, and explore city models in 3D.

Using VU.CITY in 3D

• Controlling the camera with the mouse and keyboard
• Perspective vs Orthographic Top Down View (2D Mode) NEW
• Using the Toolbar
• Recording your screen

The Developments menu is for creating / importing massing models, and comparing them with existing and upcoming schemes:

The Tools menu is for adjusting the 3D environment around you, and measuring things like height, distance, and visibility:

The Camera menu is for creating specific views and vantage points, and exporting them as image files:

 

• Camera Tool (including Presentation Mode)
• 360 Screenshots
• Uploading views from CSV

The Data menu lets you layer GIS data sources over the city model. The available data will vary from city to city:

 

• GIS data (general)
• Land Registry Query
• Point Loading Tool

The Search menu lets you quickly navigate around the city model, and stores favourite locations for easy access later:

The Settings menu contains options for changing your window mode and screen resolution, as well as switching between city licences, and getting help:
