Modifying site geometry

Last updated: 23 December 2025 16:29 BST

Geometry modifiers provide flexible control over the shape, scale, and layout of buildings after they have been generated. They allow users to make targeted adjustments without restarting the generation process, preserving parts of a design while adapting others to fit site constraints or opportunities identified later in the workflow.

Geometry modifiers allow users to refine, adjust, and manage building blocks after massing has been generated. They provide precise control over building form, orientation, and layout, helping balance automated design outputs with site-specific adjustments and design intent.

Adding and editing routes

Pedestrian or vehicle routes can be adjusted to improve circulation and connectivity across the site. Editing routes ensures paths align with building entrances and integrate smoothly with surrounding streets and open spaces.

  1. Navigate to Create in the main menu and proceed to Routes.
  2. Select Draw route to add a new route or Edit routes to change an existing one.
  3. Move control points to adjust the path.
  4. Confirm when satisfied.

Editing attractor points

Attractor points influence how buildings respond to site features such as landmarks, views, or transport nodes. Adjusting these points helps refine building orientation, height, and form to better align with key site conditions.

  1. Navigate to Create in the main menu.
  2. Select Attractor points.
  3. Select an existing attractor point or add a new one.
  4. Set the attractor function
  5. Drag it to the desired location and confirm adjustments.

Locking and unlocking buildings

Locking or unlocking buildings lets users preserve certain elements exactly as they are while continuing to optimise other parts of the site. This is useful for keeping successful designs fixed while experimenting with changes elsewhere.

  1. Navigate to Create in the main menu.
  2. Select Lock/Unlock buildings.
  3. Choose the buildings to lock or unlock.
  4. Set the lock type – 2D or 3D.
  5. Apply the lock or unlock action.

Setting building phases

Assigning phases to buildings supports staged delivery and long-term development planning. Phasing ensures construction schedules, resource allocation, and stakeholder presentations reflect the intended sequence of development.

  1. Navigate to Create in the main menu.
  2. Select Set building phase.
  3. Choose the building(s) to assign a phase.
  4. Apply the desired phase and confirm.

These geometry modifiers act as a fine-tuning stage between automated generation and analysis. They allow users to improve building orientation, sunlight access, circulation, and overall site responsiveness, while maintaining continuity between design, testing, and presentation. By applying adjustments directly in the 3D environment, every change flows seamlessly into the next phase of project development.
