Visibility states

Last updated: 23 December 2025 16:29 BST

Visibility States is a feature that enables users to control camera views by reflecting visibility settings of elements in the main scene. This allows for better management of phasing, project iterations, and storytelling within urban planning projects.

Previously, non-environmental changes in the main scene applied to all camera views, complicating the management of iterations. Visibility States solves this by letting users update specific camera views with main scene changes, thus enhancing the usability of the presentation tool.

Pushing changes

  1. Make changes in the main scene, like highlighting buildings or hiding elements.
  2. Select one or multiple camera views from the camera view menu panel.
  3. Click the “push to camera view” icon to apply the changes.
  4. Confirm the action and wait for the camera thumbnails to update.

Pulling changes

  1. Select a camera view to pull changes from.
  2. Click the “Pull changes from camera view” icon.
  3. Observe the main scene reflecting the camera view’s changes.

Key elements compatible with Visibility States

  • Highlighted buildings
  • Hidden buildings, trees, terrain
  • Imported and created models
  • Measurements, data layers, viewsheds, point data imports, tags, ZTVs, AOD visuals
  • VUstyles, timeline, land registry queries
  • Daylight and atmospheric settings
  • Tree and shadow toggles

Project iterations

Set up various camera views for project iterations, duplicate these views, and adjust visibility in the main scene to show different proposals. This allows for batch exporting images or presenting different options during meetings.

Curating visibility for presentations

Push different project elements to various views to create engaging stories, such as showing different data layers or highlighted buildings.
