Pricing

Last updated: 23 December 2025 16:29 BST

We provide detailed 3D models and consents as part of our comprehensive urban planning and design services. This guide details the pricing structure for these offerings, ensuring transparency and helping you plan your projects effectively.

Geometry purchase options for non-licence holders

For non-licence holders, VU.CITY provides the option to purchase geometry from our main base model, with the addition of the recently completed schemes. This combination offers access to a comprehensive set of geometrical data that reflects the current developments within the cityscape. This offering is designed to ensure that even without a full licence, users can still obtain valuable data for their planning and development needs, albeit with a focus on already completed projects as opposed to ongoing or future developments.

Level of Detail (LOD)

VU.CITY offers a detailed and tiered pricing structure for ordering geometry, tailored to the scale of the project and the level of detail (LOD) required. Here’s a breakdown of our pricing for different LODs and project sizes.

LOD 1 For larger, less detailed requirements, the minimum order is 0.5 km² at a cost of £1,000 per km².

LOD 2 Offers a moderate level of detail with a minimum order size of 0.3 km², priced at £2,000 per km².

LOD 3 Provides the highest level of detail suitable for detailed planning and visualisation. The minimum order size is 0.1 km², with a cost of £3,500 per km².

Project fee based on area size

Up to 0.24 km²: A project fee of £150 is applicable for small area requests.

0.25 - 0.49 km²: For medium-sized projects, the fee increases to £300.

0.50 - 0.74 km²: Larger projects within this range incur a fee of £450.

0.75 km² and above: The largest project size has a fee of £600, accommodating substantial development or detailed urban planning projects.

Geometry purchase options for licence holders

Cities with a VU.CITY licence - Areas Already Modelled

Additional 250m x 250m areas of geometry for cities where you hold an annual or enterprise licence are available for £150 each.

Up to 16 connected areas (equivalent to 1 km²) can be purchased in a single transaction for £2,500.

Cities without a VU.CITY licence - Areas already modelled

For cities where you do not hold a licence, 250m x 250m areas are available for £200 each.

Similar to licenced cities, up to 16 areas can be purchased at once, totalling £3,333 for 1 km².

Special considerations

Consents for Non-Licence Holders

We do not provide consented schemes or under-construction models to non-licence holders. Only completed models are available for purchase by non-licence holders.

Payment Terms

Full payment is required before any model processing begins. This ensures that we can allocate resources and deliver your models promptly.

Requesting models and consents

To request specific models or consents:

1. Specify your needs on the coverage map request form.

2. Include any consents you require by noting them in your request.

3. Once your request is processed, a quote will be generated including all relevant fees.

Our pricing model is designed to be transparent and adaptable to your project needs. Whether you are planning a small-scale project or a comprehensive urban development, VU.CITY provides the tools and resources necessary to achieve your objectives effectively.
