Assigning subscriptions
Last updated: 23 December 2025 16:29 BSTManaging and assigning licences in VU.CITY ensures that team members have the appropriate access to the platform’s features based on their needs and organisation’s subscription plan. This guide will help you understand the different types of licences and how to assign them.
Starter
All members are automatically assigned a Starter licence by default. This licence allows users to collaborate on up to three projects.
Ideal for new members or those with limited project needs, ensuring that everyone has basic access to start collaborating immediately.
Pro seat
Allows unlimited collaboration on projects and access to advanced features like the VU.CITY 3D App for visualising stories, undertaking technical analysis, and designing in context.
Pro licences must be assigned to specific users within your organisation. This is typically done by admins at the start of the subscription period.
Floating licence
Floating licences are automatically assigned and available to everyone within your organisation. They are shared access licences, meaning they allow any assigned member to use the VU.CITY 3D platform on a one-at-a-time basis.
Unlike Pro and Plus licences, Floating licences do not need to be individually assigned and are ideal for flexible access amongst a larger team.
Assigning licences
Upon signing up for VU.CITY, the organisation’s admin must assign Pro licences to individual users. This process involves selecting the users within the organisation’s admin panel who will receive Pro access.
Once assigned, Pro licences cannot be reassigned to different users during the 12-month subscription period. It is important to carefully select which team members require Pro level access based on their role and needs within the projects.
Managing floating licences
Floating licences are automatically made available to everyone in the organisation. There is no need for manual assignment.
These licences operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. When a Floating seat becomes available, any member can use it, making this licence type flexible and adaptive to varying workload demands.
