Properties panel
Last updated: 16 June 2026 17:48 BSTThe properties panel provides access to the key settings and attributes of selected items in a scene. It opens when an item is selected and allows adjustments to be made without leaving the main view. Depending on the selected item, available options may include visibility, annotation tools, building colour modes, or arrangement controls.
Batch editing and multi-selection
The panel supports both individual and batch editing. When multiple items are selected, only shared attributes are shown, enabling consistent adjustments across several elements at once. For scenes, users can adjust properties such as date, time, and building visibility, while models, points, lines, and areas offer settings for annotations, greyscale display, and arrangement order. Changes made in the properties panel are applied immediately, allowing real-time evaluation of adjustments in the scene.
How to use the properties panel
- Open the scene manager and select an item in the list.
- Review the available properties in the panel.
- Adjust the available options:
- Toggle greyscale to show consented, under-construction, and completed buildings in VU.CITY grey.
- Use arrange tools to reorder selected elements (except for scenes).
- For multi-selection, view common attributes and adjust shared settings.
- For multiple selections, view shared attributes and make batch adjustments.
- Close the panel or select another item to update the displayed properties.
- The new properties panel centralises settings for all interactable items, replacing separate controls found in the previous app.
- Combines previously scattered options into one place, including toolbar functions (date and time formerly in the sunlight tool, trees, leaves, shadows, weather, and atmospherics), consented scheme controls, attributes of the select and draw tools, data, model importer, etc.
- Scene properties now also update the timeline automatically when the date/time is changed.
