Manage files and folders

Last updated: 16 June 2026 17:48 BST

Hub uses a folder-based structure to organise files. Files are no longer grouped by projects and are instead stored within folders, allowing content to be structured in a way that reflects how it is managed day to day.

Home view and navigation

When Hub is launched, the home view presents a simplified layout focused on navigation and access to content. The left-hand panel provides entry points to home, 3D model coverage, and quick links, from which the 3D app can be launched directly. File management is now fully aligned with the shared folder structure, and the former personal drive is no longer available.

Top-level structure

The top level root folder contains all files and subfolders owned by the organisation and acts as the primary entry point for navigating content within Hub. Depending on assigned permissions, additional folders can be created within this root folder to support internal organisation and workflows. All files are managed within this shared structure.

Adding and managing files

From within an active folder, new VU files can be created or existing files uploaded directly into the selected location, ensuring content is added to the intended place within the structure.

Individual files are managed via the actions menu, accessed by right-clicking a file. This menu provides access to common file operations, including downloading, renaming, copying, pasting, moving files between folders, deleting files, and opening file settings.

Shared files

When files are shared from an external organisation, a separate root folder is created automatically. This folder is named after the organisation that shared the content and appears alongside the organisation’s own root folder. Shared files are accessed by navigating through this folder and its subfolders, following the same structure and behaviour as internally owned content.
