Account settings

Last updated: 20 October 2026 17:44 BST

Account settings show the details linked to a VU.CITY account, including the name, email address, seat type and admin rights. The My account page also provides options to update the account name, reset the password and view the VU.CITY agreements that apply.

Access account settings

  1. Open the profile menu
Log in to the Hub and select the profile initials in the top-right corner.
  2. Open My account
Select “My account” from the dropdown menu.

Once in settings, the menu on the left provides access to My account, Subscription, Organisation members and Single sign-on.

View account details

The Profile section shows the name and email address linked to the account, as well as the assigned seat type and admin rights. The password is not displayed, but can be changed using “Reset password”.

Seat type and admin rights are managed separately. The seat type determines which parts of VU.CITY the account can access, while admin rights determine whether the account can manage the Organisation. See Seats and permmissions for more information.

Update the name

  1. Select the pencil icon next to the name.
  2. Enter the new name.
  3. Select the tick to save, or the cross to cancel.

Reset the password

  1. Select “Reset password”.
  2. In the “Reset your password by email” window, select “Send reset link”. A link is sent to the email address linked to the account.
  3. Open the email and follow the link to set a new password.

If the email does not arrive within a few minutes, check the spam or junk folder.

Agreements

The Agreements section provides links to the VU.CITY agreements and privacy policy relevant to the Organisation, including the Public sector Terms and Conditions, Private sector Terms and Conditions and VU.CITY Privacy Policy.

Privacy preferences

Privacy preferences control whether analytics cookies are enabled for the VU.CITY website. Essential cookies are always enabled because they are required for the service to function. Analytics cookies help the VU.CITY team understand how the service is being used, investigate issues and support the development and testing of features.

  • Privacy Preferences

Privacy preferences can be changed at any time from the profile menu.

  1. Select the profile initials in the top-right corner, then select “Privacy Preferences”.
  2. Use the toggle to turn analytics cookies on or off.
  3. Select “Save” to apply the change.

Analytics cookies are recommended because they provide additional information that can help the VU.CITY team support the service and troubleshoot issues.

Changing a seat type or admin rights

Seat types can be changed by Organisation Admins from the Organisation members page. For example, an Organisation Admin can change a member from Maker to Contributor when 3D access is no longer required, or change a Contributor to Maker when a member needs access to the VU.CITY 3D platform. Maker seats are limited by the Organisation’s subscription, while Contributor seats are unlimited.

Admin rights are currently managed by VU.CITY. To request admin rights for a member, contact the VU.CITY account manager.
