Inviting new organisation members
Last updated: 20 October 2026 17:44 BSTOrganisation Admins can invite new members to join the Organisation from the Organisation members page. The invitation process includes choosing the seat type that will be assigned when the member joins.
Access Organisation members
- Log in to the Hub and select the profile initials in the top-right corner.
- Select “Organisation members” from the dropdown menu.
The members list shows everyone currently in the Organisation, as well as pending invitations.
Invite a new member
- Open the invite window
Select “Invite new member” in the top-right corner of the members list. - Enter the email address
Enter the email address of the person being invited. - Choose a seat type
Select “Seat type” and choose Maker or Contributor. The number of available Maker seats is shown in the dropdown. If all Maker seats are already assigned, Maker cannot be selected. - Add the invitation
Select “Add”. Steps 2 to 4 can be repeated to prepare invitations for multiple people, with a seat type selected for each person. - Send the invitations
Select “Invite”. Each invitee receives an email asking them to join the Organisation.
The right-hand side of the invite window shows current Organisation members and their seat types, making it possible to check existing access before sending an invitation.
For more information about the differences between Maker and Contributor, see user permissions.
Pending invitations
Invited members appear in the members list with “(Invite sent)” until the invitation is accepted. The seat type cannot be changed while an invitation is pending. Once the invitation has been accepted, the seat type can be changed from the members list.
To resend or cancel an invitation, select the “…” menu on the invitation and choose “Resend invite” or “Remove member”.
Choosing a seat type
Choose Maker when the member needs access to the VU.CITY 3D platform.
Choose Contributor when access to the Hub is sufficient.
Maker seats are limited by the Organisation’s subscription, while Contributor seats are unlimited.
See user permissions for a full explanation of the available seat types and access levels.
