Managing seats and access
Last updated: 20 October 2026 17:44 BSTOrganisation Admins can manage existing members from the Organisation members page. This includes changing seat types, managing Organisation roles and removing members who are no longer part of the Organisation.
Access Organisation members
- Log in to the Hub and select the profile initials in the top-right corner.
- Select “Organisation members” from the dropdown menu.
The members list shows each member’s name, email address, seat type, admin rights and date added.
Use the search bar to find a member by name or email address. The filter can be used to view Current members, All-time members, Removed members or Invite sent. Select a column heading to sort the list.
Change a member’s seat type
When a new subscription starts or is renewed, each Maker seat should be assigned to a single named user for the duration of the subscription. If the named user leaves the Organisation or no longer requires the Maker seat, the seat can be reassigned to another named user.
When changing a Maker seat, a confirmation message may appear stating “This may violate your agreement”. This relates to the subscription requirement for Maker seats to be allocated to a single named user.
If there is any uncertainty about when a Maker seat can be reassigned or whether a change is covered by the subscription agreement, contact the account manager before making the change.
Manage Organisation roles
A member’s Organisation role is separate from their seat type and determines whether they can manage the Organisation.
Assign admin rights
During Early Access, admin rights are assigned by VU.CITY. To give a member admin rights, contact the VU.CITY account manager.
To remove admin rights from an Admin:
- Find the member in the list.
- Select the “…” menu at the end of the row.
- Select “Remove admin rights”.
Super Admin is a protected role and can only be assigned or removed by VU.CITY. It cannot be changed from the Organisation members page.
For more information about the different admin roles, see Seats and permissions.
Remove a member
When someone leaves the Organisation, their account can be removed from the members list to stop their access and, where applicable, free up their Maker seat.
- Find the member in the list.
- Select the “…” menu at the end of the row.
- Select “Remove member”, then confirm.
Removed members no longer appear under Current members. They can be viewed by selecting Removed members in the filter.
The member’s files and folders remain in the Organisation, so they can still be accessed by members with the appropriate permissions. Organisation Admins retain access to all files.
Keep seats and access up to date
Review the Organisation members list regularly and remove members who have left the Organisation.
If any issues occur while managing members or access, contact the support team at support@vu.city.
