Created elements
Last updated: 08 October 2026 16:19 BSTElements created in the Legacy application are preserved during migration, but some may appear differently or be available as reference data rather than editable content.
Measurements and annotations
Measurements and annotations created in Legacy are migrated with the project and remain available in the new 3D application.
Their appearance or behaviour may differ because these elements are handled differently in the new application. The migrated content remains available for reference within the project.
Create tool massings
Geometry created using certain Legacy tools is migrated as reference data. It remains visible in the project but cannot be modified using the corresponding tools in the new application. This allows previously created content to remain available without implying that it can be edited or regenerated in the same way as newly created elements.
ZTV analysis
Existing ZTV results are migrated with the project and remain available in the new 3D application as a data overlay. The migrated result provides a reference to the analysis that was created in Legacy and is not lost during migration.
ZTV calculations work differently in the new application, so migrated results may not correspond exactly to a newly generated ZTV. The new ZTV tool also provides different options for configuring the analysis, for this reason, we recommend rerunning ZTV analysis where required. This creates a new result using the current ZTV calculation and allows the available analysis settings to be configured as required. The migrated Legacy result remains available alongside the new analysis, allowing the original result to be referenced when needed.
Notes on visual differences
While the majority of content is preserved, some visual aspects may appear differently. This includes styling options such as edge line configuration, which is currently limited and will be expanded in future updates.
Where differences occur, they are typically related to improvements in rendering, data handling, or tool behaviour rather than loss of information.
